Creative Memories blog
Posted on September 18, 2018 by Krislyn Mattei
Fall is one of the most beautiful times of the year, but it’s also one of the busiest. Between school starting, the holiday season and winterization projects, it’s hard to find enough free time to sit down and put all of the beautiful photos you’ve taken into a fall scrapbook layout. This is where the Gather Together Fast2Fab™ album comes in handy. Fast2Fab™ albums make it easier than ever to create a quick fall scrapbook layout that still looks absolutely stunning. You save time without sacrificing the quality of the finished project! If you need an easy-to-make fall scrapbook layout, check out what blog contributor Krislyn was able to create!
Krislyn’s Inspiration:The stunning new Gather Together collection evokes for me all the best feelings of family and the blessings of being with those I love in the places I love most. I see this Fast2Fab™ album as a perfect choice for photos of meaningful family gatherings, favorite weekend getaways and the beautiful change of seasons.
I especially love the variety in the preprinted layouts of the Gather Together Fast2Fab™! Alternating spreads feature misty, mountain-like backdrops, striking black backgrounds and gorgeous wreath designs. To make the most of these pages, I like to add creative touches with the coordinating papers, mats and stickers.
To create these Fast2Fab™ layouts you’ll need:
- Gather Together Fast2Fab™ Pages
- Gather Together Paper Pack, Variety Mat Pack, Stickers and Foiled & Layered Embellishments
- Navy Cardstock
- White Script and Black Sans Serif ABC/123 Stickers
- Flower Child Border Punch
- Original Border Maker System with the Garland Border Maker Cartridge
- Custom Cutting System with Circle Patterns
- 12-inch Straight Trimmer
- All-Purpose Scissors
- Tape Runner with Repositionable Tape Runner Refill
- Foam Squares
Thankful Layout
For this layout, choose two 6″ x 4″ photos and three 4″ x 4″ photos. Stretch the lower-left and upper-right mint green preprinted boxes by adding pieces trimmed from a photo mat (I used one that had three strips of colors). Add photos as shown. Trim a photo mat with a saying (or another photo) to 4″ x 4″ and add along with the photos.
Cut two 2″ x 12″ strips of floral patterned paper and adhere along the outer edges of the layout. Top each of these pieces with a ¾” x 12″ strip of mint green patterned paper, mounted to the outside edge of the floral strip.
Using the Flower Child Border Punch, punch two borders with Navy Cardstock and back each with a ¼” x 12″ strip of gold floral patterned paper, centered. Adhere the flower borders along the middle of the page over the borders and photos, positioned right between the preprinted boxes as shown.
Apply a border sticker to each outer edge where the two paper strips meet. Finish by journaling as desired!
Home Sweet Home Layout
Choose the beautiful wreath of leaves page for this layout. Start by cropping a favorite 5″ x 7″ photo using the outside of the Custom Cutting System medium-sized Circle Pattern with the Red Blade. Mat the photo with a piece of light blue dot patterned paper cut with the same pattern and the Blue Blade. Mat again with a piece of white floral patterned paper cut with the outside of the largest Circle Pattern and the Red Blade. Mount to the center of the wreath.
Crop three photos to measure 4″ x 4″ and mount, along with a 4″ x 4″ piece of gold mat paper (imprinted with a leaf circle), in a grid as shown.
Using the Garland Border Maker Cartridge, punch a border with light blue dot patterned paper and trim to measure 12″ x 1-1/4″. Cut a 12″ x 1-1/2″ strip of gold floral patterned paper. Adhere the garland border strip to the gold strip, overlapping as shown and adhere to the right side of the layout, about ½” up from the bottom edge.
Cut a second garland border strip, punching just twice. Trim to 5″ x 1-1/4″. Gently fold the end (without the punchouts) along the middle and snip off a corner to make a ribbon shape.
Cut a second gold floral strip, this one 5-3/4″ x 1-1/2″. Again, snip the left side like a ribbon. Adhere the two strips as shown along the lower right of the left side of the layout, to look like the border spills from one page onto the other.
Title the journal box with ABC/123 Stickers and embellish as desired, popping the stickers up with Foam Squares.
