If you plan to spend all of your time on Walt Disney World turf you can probably spare yourself the car rental expense (and valet parking expenses).  Ridesharing,  towncar,  taxi and shuttle service from the airport to all area hotel are available around the clock.  Within Walt Disney World, there is an extensive  network of transportation to bring you from point to point (if not always immediately or directly).   Most area hotels offer their own bus services to and from Disney Theme parks (inquire in advance about schedules and costs if any).  Note that strollers must be collapsed before boarding Disney bus and water taxi transportation.

If you plan to resort hop within Walt Disney World or any attractions outside of Walt Disney World, taxi and services such as Uber and Lyft (including Minnie Van Service) can often do the trip.

Renting a Car is an option to, it is easy (but pricey) to rent a car at the airport:

  • National (800-227-7368)
  • Alamo (800-327-9633)
  • Avis (800-331-1212)
  • Budget (800-527-0700)
  • Dollar (800-800-4000)

But note that the rates are much higher than in other locations due to hefty airport fees. For a day or multi-day trips consider Alamo or national at the Disney car care center (407-824-3470 free shuttle service is available from select Disney Resorts) or one of the rental agencies that have desk at the resorts on Hotel Plaza Boulevard or simply inquire about s car rental at the front desk of your resort.  It is also possible and convenient to rent a car from National or Alamo at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort.   There is a daily fee to park a vehicle at the Disney resort.   Be sure to factor that into your travel budget.   Keep in mind that area traffic is brutal--always allow extra time to reach your destination; especially if you have a restaurant reservation.
